Best Business Application
In a wildly competitive market, there are hundreds of applications performing similar tasks. What makes yours stand out from the crowd? Innovation, features and market share will be taken into account.
Best Business Mobile Solution
An increasing trend towards remote working and self-service has seen an explosion in enterprise mobility, and judges will look for the solution - either software or a device - that brings the biggest benefit to its users.
Best Business Intelligence / Analytics Vendor
With the exponential growth in data collection across business, it is vital to also have insights into its use. The winning vendor will demonstrate a clear understanding of how businesses use data, and how to present it to create and support new business opportunities.
Best Software-as-a-Service Provider
As businesses worldwide move to the cloud, SaaS is an increasingly popular way to deploy apps, with huge benefits in uniformity and scalability. A key part of the success of SaaS is its integration with other tools, and providers should demonstrate a mastery of this criteria, as well as discussing their customer support; training; and update cycle.
Best Business Software Provider
Although the cloud is popular, nearly every business still uses legacy on-prem apps, or some hybrid of the two. The winning vendor may excel in a single area or be able to handle all three modes of operation, offering support to customers as they switch between them.
Best AI / Machine Learning Provider
Artificial intelligence is still in its nascent stages, while related technologies like machine learning have existed for decades. Whichever area the award winner focuses on, it must provide its customers with excellent training and support as they get used to its systems, with innovative approaches and a never-finished attitude to product evolution.
*NEW* Most Innovative Use of AI / Automation
This award will go to the AI or automation implementation that best demonstrates something new and fresh. It could be new features; a different way of providing an established service; or it could be in the project outcome. Details of exactly how the use of AI or automation demonstrates innovation will be essential.
IoT Vendor of the Year
The IoT space is rife with horror stories about lack of security and poor product support. The winning vendor will suffer none of these issues: its products will work and integrate seamlessly, its security will be top-notch and its customer care second-to-none.
IoT Product of the Year
An IoT product in this case could be any type of device or software tool that works with the Internet of Things. Entries should explain what the product does, how it works with the IoT and describe its functionality, features and innovation.
Best Networking or Communications Provider
Business networks are complex, constantly growing and changing as new services and locations are bolted on. The result is often a sprawl of infrastructure connecting multiple geographically dispersed nodes. The same applies to the communications space, where offices may be on opposite sides of the world. The winner of this award will not only demonstrate first-rate innovation in its product and services, but also excellent support and customer care.
Best Business Storage Product
As data collection scales upwards, companies must deal with ever-increasing amounts of information. But they don’t only need more space: they need more innovative storage. What is your product doing differently, and why should end-users care?
Best Business Backup and Continuity Provider
Whether you are providing simple storage or disaster recovery, we want to know what makes you the best: how do you stand out, head and shoulders, above the rest?
*NEW* Best Digital Transformation Product or Service
Digital transformation is well under way in many companies, but there are many more operating with legacy apps and systems, which need all the help they can get when it comes to moving to a more scalable, agile way of working. What makes your product or service the tool that they should choose?
Best Security Product - SME
Security is easy when you've got a big budget to call in - but for SMEs, what's required is maximum security for minimal bucks. The winning product will need to demonstrate a breadth of technology, ease of use and keen pricing, as well as providing SME organisations with the security they need. This category is open to products targeting businesses with fewer than 1,000 employees.
Best Security Product - Enterprise
Major enterprises need to be as secure as possible, 24/7 - without affecting their ability to do business with partners, or their employees' ability to do their jobs. The Best Security Product - Enterprise will need to be highly scalable, while also offering finely tuned features and controls. This category is open to products targeting businesses with more than 1,000 employees.
*NEW* Best Security Product - Public Sector
Public sector organisations are often similar to major enterprises in scale, but with security budgets more on a par with SMEs. Organisations in the third sector can also have some very particular and demanding needs that can't always be met by security products built for commercial organisations. The winner in this category will need to demonstrate not just what makes it stand out from the pack, but what makes it truly bespoke for public sector organisations.
Security Innovation of the Year
True innovation takes time and dedication to achieve. Often, its potential isn't fully recognised when it first appears, but its impact can be revolutionary. We're interested not just in the big innovations, but the small ones that are potentially revolutionary. However, we need to know exactly what is innovative about your entry - and the potential it has for revolutionary change.
Best Business Security Provider
Whether a security product or a security service, we want to know what makes its provider the best: what makes the company stand out, head and shoulders, above the rest?
Best Virtualisation Product
Virtualisation was the spark for the whole cloud revolution, allowing workloads to be abstracted from their underlying hardware. But it didn’t stop with the server. Later developments include para-virtualisation, storage virtualisation and network virtualisation as the software-defined data centre takes shape. In this category we are looking for truly effective virtualisation products in the data centre, including hybrid cloud and converged infrastructure.
Best Cloud Service
As everything moves to cloud it can be hard to stand out, but the winner of this category will rise above the commodity offerings to add something special in terms of performance, configurability, reliability or exceptional customer service.
Best Cloud Security Product
Security vendors and cloud providers cannot afford to sit still, and the best cloud security products will be those that add intelligence to data and infrastructure protection, ensuring their users are always a step or two ahead of any would-be attacker.
Most Innovative Use of Open Source Technologies
Open source software both enabled the cloud and is also one of the chief beneficiaries of it. By borrowing and adapting scripts, protocols and libraries, innovation is accelerated. We’re looking for a top-class cloud-based project here, which makes the most of the open source way of working and which is itself open for other developers to use.
Best Cloud Computing Provider
From the mega-clouds to the specialist white glove providers, there’s now a cloud to fulfil every need. Where looking for a cloud provider that is truly exceptional in its field, standing out from its peers in its offerings, innovation and/or customer service.
