Federico Olivieri

Network Automation Engineer

Ticketmaster

After spending five years as Network Engineer in telco companies in Italy, Federico moved to London to work as Access Network Engineer in BskyB where he started his first experience in coding, writing basic Bash scripts for monitoring and data gathering on access CPE. At the same time, Federico attended Cisco Academy course at London Met University. After he learnt the Cisco CCNP R&S certification, Federico decided to move out from telco industries and to be more focused on datacentre networking, where he had the chance to work with bleeding-edge technologies, open-source tools and dev-ops teams. That gave Federico the opportunity to learn about automation tools such as Ansible and Salt-Stack, use python to build custom code but also, learn Rest API and use a long array of dev-ops software such as Docker, Grafana and many more.

After a few years of experience spanned across start-up companies such as Yoti and Paddy Power Betfair, Federico decided to move to Ticketmaster as Network Automation Engineer, where he is now building custom solution with open-source tools to meet the network team's needs as well as moving the concept of the classic CLI network configuration approach to a source-control and automated fashion.
