James is Senior Director of Alvarez & Marsal's Disputes and Investigations practice in London. James brings over 15 years of experience in information technology through management, customer engagements and consultancy services specialising in information governance, GDPR and the management of dark data silos.

James has played an intrinsic part in the design and consultation of information governance systems to lead clients through data repository remediation and management, helping to deliver systems of best practice to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards. In prior roles as a consultant and Head of IT, James has lead as a solution architect to design programs to manage risk assessment, policy development, process design, program governance and end-user education in multiple client engagements, aligning each program with the internal departments such as records, compliance, security, IT, legal and the business.

Esther Franks is an Associate in the technology and data protection practice of the London office of Latham & Watkins. She advises a diverse range of clients on all aspects of data protection law, including developing and implementing GDPR road maps to compliance. Esther has previously completed client secondments at major multinational companies where she focussed on technology procurement and data protection, including recently GDPR compliance.

Steve has had a varied career at IBM where he has held leadership positions running services businesses and industry teams. In 2016 he took on the role of leading IBM's dedicated General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) programme to help clients on their journey to compliance. In this role he leads a team that bring the best of IBM's consulting capabilities in privacy, security and business transformation together with IBM's technologies in data analytics and security that enable clients to get practical with the GDPR.

Veroniki Stamati

Information Security Assurance Manager


Veroniki Stamati is an Information Security and Data Protection professional, who specialises within the area of Governance, Risk and Compliance. Veroniki is responsible for Information Security Assurance and Data Protection in ACCA and is the leading SME in the GDPR programme. In the past she had been working across a variety of industries consulting and advising up to CxO level on Information Security Management, Data Protection & Privacy.

In addition to technical expertise, Veroniki is also a public speaker and a member of Toastmasters. Veroniki has studied Informatics in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and obtained her Masters in Computing, IT Law and Management from King's College London.

Working in various parts of technology for the majority of his working life, Terry has seen the world transform from analogue to digital several times now. Mostly he gives it a gentle helping hand, but sometimes more of a firm shove, in the right direction.

Terry leads the IT team for one of the UK's largest charities (and Social Enterprises); working across a diverse range of technology needs and disciplines. He has a particular interest in the areas of Cloud services, Security and Digital Anthropology in order to design and build secure and modern platforms that people can embrace.

Tom Allen is the Special Projects Editor for Computing, V3 and The Inquirer. He joined Incisive Media in 2017 from the display industry; trading LCDs and quantum dots for big data and the IoT.

As well as writing, Tom regularly interviews C-level IT leaders, organises events across the three titles and complains about improper use of the Oxford comma.
