The GDPR: Ensuring you are compliant
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been on the radar of many senior IT professional for a while. The rules of the game are about to change greatly and the penalties for non-compliance are sky high - the offenders may face fines of up to 4% of their annual global turnover.
A lot of coordination is necessary to ensure GDPR compliance, however, in the digital era one thing that tends to be forgotten is paper-based information. All organisations maintain important contracts, HR information, forms, accounting records, legal documents and many other important elements on paper. And what about compliance with data protection legislation such as GDPR's ‘right of erasure' and 72 hour data breach notification?
It's easy to forget in this digital age that many data breaches occur through human error - paper files being thrown out or left on a train for instance. Paper is not going away so we must adopt secure and GDPR compliant means of handling it.
Join us at this free IT Leaders' Forum where we'll be discussing GDPR compliance, new digital technologies to harness and how best to treat paper-based information in the context of this new legislation.
